The #25 University of the Cumberlands Patriots moved to 2-0 on the season after a dominant 79-59 victory over (RV) Huntington. The Patriots used a suffocating defense and a massive run in the second quarter to take control of the game and never looked back.

After a competitive first quarter that saw Cumberlands take a 20-17 lead, the Patriots blew the game open in the second. A jumper by Darcie Anderson at the 5:30 mark sparked a massive 14-0 run that spanned nearly eight minutes of game time, turning a close contest into a commanding 34-17 lead. The Patriots took a 36-24 advantage into halftime.

Cumberlands maintained its double-digit lead throughout the second half. Whenever Huntington attempted a comeback, the Patriots responded. A seven-point run in the third quarter pushed the lead to 52-37. In the fourth, Joy Kendrick scored to tie her career-high, and back-to-back transition layups from Darcie Anderson helped seal the decisive victory.
